Who Should Register?

Professionals, students and job seekers who would love to get jobs in Oil & Gas sector as environmental managers and oil spill responders. You will learn skills for oil spill response safety as specified in 29 CFR 1910.120 which qualifies you to support non-contact oil spill response operations at the local, state, federal and international levels.

About the Course

Material covered in this 3-Day online course includes the training described in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) publication OSHA 3172: “Training Marine Oil Spill Responders.” Attendees seeking certification for this OSHA training MUST attend all class sessions. You will learn:

  • laws and regulations governing oil spill prevention and response from a historical perspective
  • the physical, chemical, and biological processes related to oil in the environment 
  • the established strategies and tactics for preventing and managing oil spills

The National Spill Control School (Texas A&M University Corpus Christi) will be teaching cendaidates from Nigeria via online classes on the following dates:

Meet Our Faculty

Modupe Senbanjo

CEO & Founder, Mosen Group Nigeria

Modupe Senbanjo is the Group CEO and Founder of Mosen Group, a leading Environmental Services provider in Nigeria. She graduated from the University of Lagos with a Bachelor degree in Georgraphy and Planning. She is also an Oil Spill Control & Management expert certified by Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi, Texas.

Modupe is passionate about the environment and has played a leading role in advocacy over the years. She has been a resource person and facilitator to many training programs and seminars. She is a fellow of the Institute of Oil & Gas Research and Hydrocarbon Studies.

H.A. Tony Wood

Director, NSCS Texas A&M University

H.A. Tony Wood has a B.S. in from TAMU-CC and a M.S. in Environmental Policy and Management from American Military University. His career includes 31 years as an environmental and safety consultant and an environmental business developer. He has worked on environmental management projects throughout the US and on 4 continents.

Tony has consulted on environmental and safety issues to most major industrial classifications, including many Fortune 500 companies, and many government agencies. His expertise includes industrial waste management, disposal, and recycling; environmental strategies planning; water resource management; and environmental and safety systems development.
